Thessaloniki – standard tour

Fascinating city tour of Thessaloniki, “the heart of Northern Greece", which is known for its rich history and vibrant modern life. There is also the second largest and most important Greek port (Thessaloniki is located on the banks of the picturesque Thermaic Gulf , famous for its magnificent sunsets). At various times in Thessaloniki lived the great orator Cicero, the Apostle Paul, who preached Christianity here. Cyril and Methodius, the founders of Slavic writing, were born in Thessaloniki. Modern Thessaloniki is a city of the youth and students. Here lie the first Greek Conservatory and the biggest university in the Balkans - Aristotle University, where students come to study from all over the world. The city's architecture is unusual and represents an alternation of classical and modern styles, and the main symbol of the city - the beautiful White Tower, built on the shore of the bay, surely familiar even to those, who have not been here yet. You will see other famous attractions of the city: the triumphal arch of Emperor Galerius- Rotunda, the Basilica of St. Demetrios with the relics of the patron saint of the city.
